Asia's biggest spending plan carrier AirAsia Bhd (AIRA.KL) has gotten a $1 billion offer for its air ship renting unit, Bloomberg News cited Chief Executive Tony Fernandes as saying.
AirAsia expects to strip the business, Asia Aviation Capital Ltd, sooner or later, Fernandes told Bloomberg on Monday however added that the offer should be talked about further with the board.
He was cited as saying that the business was a "capable money generator".
Reuters reported in October that AirAsia has been in chats with lessors, including money rich Chinese organizations, to offer a stake in its renting backup.
